Choice of Interior Timber for Andersen hinged doors
Oak Hinged Doors
Our oak hinged doors are made from this northern hemisphere hardwood which is very strong, durable, and resistant to insect and fungal attack. Oak has been used in construction for hundreds of years, both external and internal use. The lovely grain can be seen in our Andersen oak hinged doors, which are made using wood from managed forests.
Maple Hinged Doors
Our maple hinged doors are made from a Canadian variety which is particularly hard, and often used in interior and exterior construction. These Andersen maple hinged doors are made using Maple from managed forests.
Pine Hinged Doors
Pine is a popular engineered softwood, but our pine sliding doors are suitable for external use due to them being treated. All of our pine comes from managed coniferous forests. Our Andersen Pine hinged doors are a great low-cost option.
Our doors are available either sliding or hinged which can be out-swinging or in-swinging. Double glazed units have a 20 year warranty against breakdown which is transferable to future owners. Mortise-and-tenon joints prevent sag and ensure smooth operation and doors are supplied hinged. The exterior of the doors are protected with a long lasting urethane base finish in a choice of colours as detailed below. All glazing is self cleaning and is delivered with a translucent film to protect it during building works or decoration. A selection of high quality classic or contemporary door furniture is also available. Doors can be supplied up to 2438mm high. Insect screens are also available.
